The top 5 cutest and funniest non-human sidekicks!

Most successful kids movies and franchises feature two major types of characters
1. The protagonist
2. The sidekick
We all know in the best of movies the sidekick or sidekicks are loved sometimes more than the main character and tend to not be human.
Here is my list based on personal opinion and knowledge of pop-culture of the top 5 most loved non-human sidekicks.

5. Thing 1 and Thing 2

These mischief making things may not have been seen since the 2003 making of the Doctor Seuss classic The Cat in The Hat but their legacy still lives on with their famous T-shirts particularly seen throughout Universal Studio's all over the world.

4. Donkey

According to Wikipedia he is annoying, talkative, sensitive and euphoric character who has a fear of spiders and a love of waffles, but did you know he was actually modelled off a real miniature donkey called Perry?  Of all the characters in this list Donkey has been in the media the most having starred in all four Shrek films, a musical, numerous tv specials and video games and other
forms of Media.

3. Toothless
Toothless like Donkey first appeared in a book series before rising to fame in the first movie in the How To Train Your Dragon movie trilogy back in 2010. He has returned to screens once again in June this year and continued to charm the fans of both the movies and the books, but what is it about Toothless that we all love so much? Probably the fact that he is no stereotypical large red dragon but instead a misunderstood cute black dragon.

2.Olaf

Frozen took the world by storm late last year so this list would not be complete without including 'everybody's favourite snowman who has an obsession with Summer... OLAF! I personally prefer Sven over Olaf who is the most unappreciated character of the movie who if he wasn't competing with a Snowman who sung a song about wanting to experience Summer may have got more recognition. So, I have to award the number 2 position to Olaf ( so no hard feelings ok?)

What is surprising however is whilst Olaf is a popular part of the franchise it is not known when he will return as unlike some other major characters of the movie (including Sven) he will not be featured in the season 4 Frozen story arc in the ABC show Once Upon a Time but will most likely feature in some shape or form in the upcoming book series, but whatever the future is for Olaf, hopefully it will feature Summer.

And now in first place (drumroll please...)

1. The Minions!

Ok this is SLIGHTLY bias because I love minions! They fit all the criteria of the perfect non- human sidekicks they are cute, funny, mischievous and they even speak a different language! Due to their rise in popularity in the Despicable Me franchise they will be returning in their very own movie set for release in July next year.

That brings me to the end of my list. Do you agree with me?

Acheiving our dreams

Earlier this week, we had a guest speaker at school talking to us about how we should work towards our dreams for as little as 5 minutes a day in order to achieve them in the distant future.

It got me thinking about my own dreams and aspirations for the future. At first I thought that I had little goals that I wish to achieve in the distant future and as for the near future my only real goal is to achieve good grades, but then it occurred to me that no matter what I do in the future in some way, shape or form I want it to include writing and I know that whilst my writing (grammar and punctuation in particular) may not be perfect at the moment or to the standard of which I could write a novel worth publishing, I believe if I continue to practice that someday I might be able to pursue my dreams of writing a novel. This is partly why I started this blog, because I wish to continue to practice and improve my writing.
So now it is over to you my (few) readers. I encourage you to realise and acknowledge ( I know they are basically the same thing) your dreams and act on them.

Welcome!

This blog is dedicated to my family, friends (particularly JT who convinced me to start it in the first place) and all the wonderful people who have been part of my life so far.

I will be writing about things that interest me, life in general and things that occur in my life.

I hope you enjoy and I thankyou for reading this blog,
